Religionsource Funding

Social Science Research Council provided a $100,000 grant in 2011 to Religion Dispatches and the AAR for the research project "New Media and Scholars of Islam" in which $10,000 was allocated for building an online resource for media outlets seeking scholarly expertise on Islam.

Lilly Endowment Inc. provided a $150,000 grant to help cover the costs of operating Religionsource from February 2005 through June 2010.

The Pew Charitable Trusts awarded the AAR a $50,000 grant to help operate Religionsource from July 2006 through December 2007. From October 2000 through September 2005, Pew provided Religionsource with $1.76 million in funding.

The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life partnered with Religionsource from October 2005 through June 2006 to provide access to scholars with insight into issues involving religion and public affairs.
